Mapping the World:

>From Ancient Babylon

to the Ottoman Empire

 

FREE for the first 75 teachers who

register on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once the free spaces are filled, a special rate of $15

applies for all remaining middle school and high

school teachers who wish to attend.

Join renowned scholars on a unique journey through space and time to
explore the ways maps from ancient, classical, and medieval times
chronicle the rise of geographic awareness, advancement of science,
conquests of kings, and the brilliant artistry of mapmakers.  This
symposium is a special program, in conjunction with European
Cartographers and the Ottoman World 1500-1750, a major

new exhibit on view at the Oriental Institute Museum of the University
of Chicago, 1155 E. 58th Street, Chicago, IL.  Program includes:

Program relates directly to learning standards for Geography, Language
