[CPSLibraries] ISLMA Fall Conference, CPS Participation

Dear CPS Librarians: 

 

I attended a planning meeting for the ISLMA fall conference in
Springfield on Saturday. It promises to be a terrific event, with lots
of opportunities to attend interesting  workshops, hear great speakers,
meet authors, attend more than 75 vendor booths, participate in book
give-aways, and network and socialize with colleagues. Already
approximately 40 CPS librarians have registered to attend the
conference, and we'd love to see that number double!

 

Attached is a flier you will receive by mail run in the next day or two,
along with a detailed information release about the conference. Your
principals should also see a posting about the conference on the CEdO
website, their Board communications tool.

 

The Department of Libraries has chartered deluxe bus service to and from
the conference, leaving after school on Thursday so you will not miss
any instructional time with students (Friday is a professional
development day). We will arrange for as many buses as necessary to
accommodate attendees! If at all possible, please consider attending
this conference, which should benefit your professional growth and the
students in your schools. 

 

To register for the conference and for lodging information, go to
islma.org (registration rates go up after Friday, October 19). To
register to ride the bus, visit the Department of Libraries website
under "news and events."
