Dear Irish,
You're in a very y challenging position. Have you thought about getting Spanish language books with corresponding books on tape and bilingual books on tape in both languages just to start? The Donors Choose website offers grants for instructional materials. I have some basic word lists in Spanish that I could send you (with pictures) that I made a while bask if you think that would help. Feel free to call me if you'd like for me to send them to you.
Sincerely,
Dorsey

Try contacting dept. of Language & Culture; perhaps your area has a bi-lingual coach.

Two young ladies arrived today. One in third, one in fourth. They are my first EVER Spanish-speaking students here at Carver Primary. We have never housed bilingual materials. In fact, we usually pass them on to those who can make them useful elsewhere.
I say Spanish-speaking because...well...they don't read Spanish.
No interpreter. No English. No written Spanish.
Help?
Irish
