Books on tape are a great idea - I use them at Nightingale with ELL a lot. Follett has Spanish Books and they are easy and reliable. I have found that sometimes the kids can't read in Spanish.

Try contacting dept. of Language & Culture; perhaps your area has a bi-lingual coach.

Two young ladies arrived today. One in third, one in fourth. They are my first EVER Spanish-speaking students here at Carver Primary. We have never housed bilingual materials. In fact, we usually pass them on to those who can make them useful elsewhere.

I say Spanish-speaking because...well...they don't read Spanish.

No interpreter. No English. No written Spanish.

Help?
