[CPSLibraries] Feb Librarian Learning Community Mtg in Second Life

Dear Librarians -

 

The Feb Librarian Learning Community meeting in Second Life will occur
on Monday, Feb 25 at 8pm CST.  We will discuss AASL Standard #4 -
"Learners use skills, resources, and tools to pursue personal and
aesthetic growth."  Please review the standard in advance at
http://www.ala.org/ala/aasl/aaslproftools/learningstandards/standards.cf
m.

 

To participate:

 

1.  Well in advance of the meeting, create your free avatar account at
www.secondlife.com <http://www.secondlife.com/> .    
2.  Download the viewer interface linked from bottom of the Second Life
(SL) website homepage.  See systems requirements at
http://secondlife.com/corporate/sysreqs.php 
3. Log into SL using the downloaded client view with your avatar name
and password.
4. Participate in the orientation activities to learn basics of SL.
5. On the evening of the event, log on at least 15 minutes early.
Search under the people tab, for Elaine Tulip or Corinne Fleury and
instant message one of them for a teleport to the meeting.
