Dear CPS Librarians:
This is a reminder that our November CPS-AASL-ISTE SIGMS Second Life
learning community meeting will be Tuesday, November 18 at 7pm. This
month's focus is "Second Life for School Librarians". Our guest
facilitator is Rhonda Trueman, Head of Reference at Johnson & Wales
University in Charlotte, North Carolina. Rhonda is co-author of the
recently released book "Virtual Worlds, Real Libraries: Librarians and
Educators in Second Life and Other Multi-User Virtual Environments".
She is also the Director of Library Resources & Services for the
Alliance Virtual Library in Second Life. She will brief us on the
highlights of library services in SL and lead a discussion on its
benefits and issues for school librarians. We will conclude by
providing landmarks for a self-guided tour of various virtual libraries.
