Paula, you should compose two separate lists for grades 6-8 and 9-12.
You can put some of the middle school titles on the high school list if
you think they are also appropriate for high school. You may want to
create links to separate documents instead of typing the titles directly
on the website. This will reduce the length of the page. Also, the
high schoolers may not view the middle school lists and see that some of
the titles are on both lists. But, it may not matter to many of them.

Subject: [CPSLibraries] Separate Middle School and High School Booklists
onWebsite?
Hi,
I'm engaged in the time-consuming, fun, and sometimes confusing world of
creating a website for our library. Currently, I'm creating content for
our "Reading" section of the site and am typing booklists to share with
students. I've already decided to create lists by genre (horror,
realistic fiction, science fiction, humor, and perhaps some more
esoteric lists to spice things up).
Here's my dilemma:
My school has students in grades 6-12. Should I create separate
booklists on the website for middle schoolers and high schoolers? Part
of me says, "Yes, create separate lists," in terms of giving students
age-appropriate recommendations (especially for the middle schoolers).
But then I feel sad that the high schoolers will ignore the middle
school lists, which are packed with fun, easy reads that high school
students might enjoy when they're stressed out. Heck knows I enjoy most
of the K-12 literature I read! Also, I wonder if the separate lists
might make the page more complicated than necessary.
Anyway, I figured I'd put the question to my fellow librarians. Thanks
in advance for your help!
Best,
Paula Myers
