Dear CPS Librarians: 

ANNOUNCING SECOND LIFE EVENTS:

Face-to-Face:  On Thursday, Feb 19, attend a hands-on workshop at
National Louis University Chicago campus from 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm to
receive training on how to navigate in Second Life.  Watch for the
registration link via email in the next few days.

 

In Second Life:  The February AASL-ISTE SIGMS orientation meeting in
Second Life will take place on Wed, Feb 11 at 7pm.  This is an
opportunity to informally become familiar with how to operate in SL.

Looking ahead this month, you are invited to attend a panel discussion
on Tues, Feb 17 at 7pm.  Joyce Valenza, Rhonda Trueman, and I will lead
a discussion about libraries and library programs in Second Life.  The
event will take place at the ISTE Broadcast Studio in Second Life at
http://slurl.com/secondlife/ISTE%20Island%203/197/238/23.  The event
will be streamed in Second Life on SLCN.tv (http://slcn.tv
<http://slcn.tv/> ) and archived at their website.

Also, later this month, join us for our February learning community
meeting.  On Thursday, Feb 26 at 7pm, we will meet with nationally-known
guest facilitator Carol Simpson to discuss "Copyright Law for School
Librarians".    We will meet at
