Julie,

If your library is automated and you want to know what areas need to
improved in your library, you can use an option in Titlewave. Titlewave is
free, you just need to sign up.

http://www.titlewave.com/

They have a option that can evaluate your current collection and show you,
based on your school info, the areas of the collection where you would need
more books.

Subject: [CPSLibraries] standard for book collections?

Hi all,

I'm wondering if there is a standard for how many books a school library
should have. I'm writing a grant for a K-8 library of 400 students and I
don't know exactly how many books to ask for to bring the library "up to
standard". Do any of you have a # of books/student or a total collection
size that you are aiming for in your libraries - in an ideal world?

I've read them all. They're very clean and well written. I wouldn't keep
my higher leveled 4th or 5th graders from reading these book if it's at
there reading level. You'll find this will be most popular with the girls.
