This was my second year and fourth book fair.  I would say get as many
volunteers as you can, I unfortunately have to run my fair alone but use
student volunteers.  Keep a running record of your transactions and
always start the day with enough starter money for making change, you'd
be surprised the big bill some parents will produce.  If you're going
with Scholastic, use the theme provided!  It gives segue to great
promotional ideas!  This past book fair we had was Scholastic's "Lights,
Camera, Book Fair" theme and we dressed the room up like Hollywood, had
a red carpet leading into the fair and even sold small bags of stovetop
popcorn!  This brought in an added $30 to our profit!  We also let "big
spenders" take a picture under a Superstar banner with their books and a
movie clapboard.  That's all I can think of right now, but if you have
